Day 11 Reporting – 2,024 Words/Day Process Log – More Changes

I’ve used these little blog posts in the morning as a sort of warm up. My concern is, as I’ve mentioned earlier, I like writing fiction in the morning when my energy is high. So, I’m going to do a thing where I’ll make notes in for the posts and other non-fiction in the morning and get to them I the afternoon. Let’s see if I’m able to write more fiction with this change.

I suspect that when I head into the busy season for my 9-to-5 job, fiction writing will get easier and the non-fiction writing is something I’ll want to avoid since I’ll be reading and writing enough of that during the day. We’ll see.

Next experiment: Going to bed 30 minutes earlier. I want to go to bed earlier so I can have 30 more minutes in the morning to write. Right now, I have to split up my writing time to reach my 2,024 words a day goal. Adding an additional 30 minutes should be enough time to write 2,024 words. We’ll see. I also want to do this because when I log in to work, my time is not my own. I might have to work later for an emergency project. I can’t control that. I can control my morning time, though.

Yes, I’m preparing for the busy season at work, now. It’s so easy to get off track and then feel horrible about not meeting my goals. I’m hoping to circumvent all of that by establishing habits now.

Being this intentional and giving myself years to reach a goal through trial and error with my writing is new to me. My goal for this year is to play around enough so that I find what works. Next year, I’ll refine and the next year after that, I’ll further refine my processes.

Side Note: Looking at the tracker so far, the words are starting to add up. Like, wow.

Side Notete #2: I really need to put my published works on this website. It’s not like I have a writing resume sitting around somewhere…wait, I do.

Keep moving forward.
