Day 48 Reporting – 2,024 Words/Day Process Log –Getting To The Computer

The hardest part of writing is getting to the computer and writing the first page. That’s how it was for me this morning. Instead of rolling out of bed and going into my typical morning routine which flows right into me putting on my wrist brace and typing at the computer, I didn’t roll out of bed. I played a couple of games on my phone and then started reading a chapter of a book I’m in the middle of.

As soon as I got out of bed and started with the routine – brush teeth, fill up water bottle, make writing smoothie, strap on wrist brace turn on computer – I’m here, writing.

I still lie to myself that I only need to write 1 page. It works because it’s true. It’s the same as when I figured out, I was miserable for the first 20 minutes of exercise. After that point, everything just became easier. Once I recognized that, a 45 – minute walk seemed like something totally doable. For me, my writing warm-up is a page. When I sit down at my chair and start writing? I’ve won.

Keep moving forward. Keep getting better.
