Day 84 Reporting – 2,024 Words/Day Process Log – Keep Tracking

The funny thing about writing these posts out of order is that the topics aren’t consistent at all. For example, yesterday’s post? I actually wrote that 5 days ago, so yep, I’m in a different place mentally. In the past week, I’ve had 3 days where I haven’t written anything which is wild because writing 1 page is not hard for me.

One thing that I’m sure of is, even if I get behind, the sure-fire way I know I’ll stop making progress is if I stop tracking. And I gotta say, stopping tracking is the first thing that happens after slipping off track. After all, seeing how far I am from my goals or seeing the scale go in a different way does not make me feel good.

What’s an easy, but ultimately self-destructive way of stopping that feeling? It’s not to have it. If I don’t track my word counts and if I don’t track my weight, then I won’t have to deal with the fact that what I’m doing isn’t working and I need to change.

So, tracking is a way of moving forward. It’s feedback. It’s saying that I’m still in the game, I’m still ready to make changes.

Keep moving forward. Keep getting better.
