Day 90 Reporting – 2,024 Words/Day Process Log – Speed of Change

Back when I started my health journey, I was ruthless about changing things if something wasn’t working. There’s no way I would have allowed more than one week without the scale either staying the same or moving down without making a change.

Honestly, it didn’t take that long. If I missed a planned workout, I’d investigate why. If I overate, I’d look over my records and see if there was a reason. (Usually, it was because I waited to eat, got hungry and then the Goldfish crackers or some other cheese flavored snack was calling my name and I answered the siren call.) After paying attention, I’d try something different to see if that helped. Usually, it did. When I got lazy, though? That’s when things became a problem.

Recently, I couldn’t ignore that the scale and my energy levels were going in the wrong direction. I mentioned starting my “done calendar” back up. I also changed my schedule up to exercise before writing and to include journaling. Now. That’s a challenge because I’m using up a lot of decision energy and between exercising and journaling that took an hour for me to get to the page from the time I woke up.

That’s too much for me. So. I need to keep journaling, but maybe place it later after my regular writing. If that doesn’t work, maybe I’ll journal right before bed. The point is that if something isn’t working, then something needs to change. The world is a feedback loop. It doesn’t take long to see what’s working and what isn’t.

Keep moving forward. Keep getting better.
