Day 95 Reporting – 2,024 Words/Day Process Log – WIBBOW

I came across a writing conference earlier today and I was thinking about signing up for it until I remembered Dean Wesley Smith’s question – Would I Be Better Off Writing?

It’s a simple question. It cuts to the heart of the matter like good questions do. The fact is that while I have some short stories and a couple of collections on line, I do not have any novels. Until I have a full series completed and available, there really isn’t a point of going to an in-person conference. What would I promote? If I found someone who was interested in my work, where could I send them?

If I’m going to request that time off work (the reason why the conference was tempting was because it was during a dead time at the job and I could easily take the time off), then the time and money would be better spent locking myself into a hotel room and finishing stories.

Keep moving forward. Keep getting better.
