Day 98 Reporting – 2,024 Words/Day Process Log – Shorter Posts

Have you noticed these posts have been getting shorter? That’s intentional. I want to spend more time on my short fiction and longer pieces. As of the day I’m writing this, I have a good runway of blog posts so the only thing I’ll need to do is update the word count.

I’ve sensed a pattern of boom and bust when it comes to my interest in certain projects. I’ll go on a tear, like I am currently with drafting these blog posts and then I’ll go on a tear with writing short stories or writing longer fiction pieces. I haven’t gone on a tear with poetry, though. That’s interesting.

Anyway, I know that sooner or later I’ll get bored with writing blog posts. Just like sooner or later, I get bored with writing my newsletters. It’s why I write so many of them ahead of time and then plan them.

Someone told me that they didn’t realize that you could do that – that writing a weekly newsletter didn’t mean that you actually had to write every week. Writing and posting are two different things.

Anyway, it’s morning. The birds haven’t woken up yet so it’s still quiet. Time to see what my characters are up to.

Keep moving forward. Keep getting better.

If you enjoyed this blog post, you’ll probably like my weekly newsletter. You can sign up here:
